Rest Daddy Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 9, 2026
Rest Daddy ("the app") is made by The Free Radicals ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to the information you put into the app.
In short: the app works fully on your phone without an account. If you choose to sign in, your information is backed up to your private account so you can get it back on a new phone. We never sell your information, never use it for advertising, and never share it except with the services that run the backup for us.
What you enter
To work out your paid rest and help you check your pay, you can enter:
- your name, profession, age and location (all optional), and a profile photo (optional)
- your shift times, schedule, pay rates, pay dates and pay rules
- hours worked, paid rest, time off, stipends and purchases, planned overtime
- rest tables you make or import
The app uses this only to show you your results: rest earned, hours and pay, your pay stub, overtime totals, time off balances and the no tax on overtime estimate. All of that math is done on your phone.
Without an account
If you don't sign in, everything stays only on your phone. Nothing you enter is sent to us or anyone else.
With an account (optional automatic backup)
If you sign in under Profile > Automatic backup, we keep:
- Your email address, to send you sign-in codes. There is no password.
- A copy of what you entered (everything in the list above, including your profile photo if you added one), so it backs up automatically and comes back when you sign in on another phone.
- Your account details for the app: the day you first started using Rest Daddy and whether you have Premium. These decide which features you get.
Your backed-up information is private to your account. The database itself only lets your signed-in account read or change your records. It is encrypted on the way to our servers and while stored there.
Who helps us run it
- Supabase stores accounts and backups (supabase.com), on servers in the United States.
- Resend delivers the sign-in code emails (resend.com). It receives your email address and the code.
- Sentry receives crash reports (sentry.io), described below.
They handle your information only to provide these services to us. We don't share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.
Crash reports
If the app crashes or hits an error, it sends us a crash report so we can fix it: what went wrong and where in the app's code, the app version, and the phone model and system version. Crash reports never include your name, email, hours, pay or anything you typed, and they are not linked to your account. This happens whether or not you sign in.
Things that stay on your phone
- Reminders (payday, planned overtime, stipend money) are scheduled by your phone itself. Nothing is sent to us.
- Your profile photo. The app asks to see your photo library only when you tap "Add a photo". It never uses the camera or microphone. The photo is copied to your backup only if you're signed in.
- Files you export or share (Hours CSV, backup file, pay reports such as the no tax on overtime PDF) go to your phone's share sheet. Where they go next is up to you.
What we don't do
- No selling or renting your information, ever.
- No tracking you across other apps or websites, and no analytics on what you enter. Crash reports are only used to fix the app.
- No ads in the current version. If ads are added later, they will be non-personalized (not based on your information or tracking) and this policy will be updated first.
Rest table share codes
A share code contains only a rest table (its rules and grid). It never contains your name, hours or any other personal information.
Keeping and deleting your information
- On your phone: Profile > Delete my data > Delete everything (two taps) erases everything on the phone. Deleting the app also removes it.
- Your account: Profile > Automatic backup > Delete my account (two taps) deletes your account and every backed-up record right away. Copies may remain in our providers' encrypted backups for up to 30 days before they are erased.
- By email: you can also ask us to delete your account at support@restdaddy.app. See restdaddy.app/delete-account.
- If you just sign out, your information stays on your phone and in your account until you delete it.
You can see and correct everything you entered right in the app. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights over your information. Email us and we'll help.
Children
The app is meant for working adults. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how information is handled, we'll update this policy before that version of the app is released and change the effective date. For important changes we'll also tell you in the app.
